Performers
The Candybox Revue is composed of people from different cultural backgrounds, ages, races, gender identities, abilities, religions, sexual orientations and levels of professional experience. We have both performing and non-performing members who contribute a mix of skills, knowledge, ideas and creativity. We range from trained dance artists, actors, circus arts performers, and musicians to costume makers, theatre technicians, stage managers, producers, production office folks, and more!
Our members have many opportunities to hone their craft in formal and informal performance settings with truly impactful purposes. Members enjoy the camaraderie of their colleagues and, in so doing, lean on and support one-another as both solo and ensemble artists. They use their talents to serve the interests of others and have opportunities to rotate into behind-the-scenes roles, lead and grow new skills, talents, and confidence in their capacities as artists.
Full-time Members
Our full-time members drive the direction and vision of the troupe. How? They vote on seasons, festivals, key activities and new group pieces. Many have deep experience in the performing arts, burlesque, and their professional lives outside of burlesque. Benefits of being a full-time member include:
-
Agency in the direction of the troupe through the voting process (voting on members, mainstage shows, budgets, etc.)
-
Able to produce under the CBR name with full backing of CBR resources
-
Are eligible to be selected for leadership positions
-
Eligible for costume and education scholarships
-
Eligible to choreograph group acts for the CBR repertoire
-
Discounted or free classes and workshops at The Atlanta School of Burlesque, and free rehearsal space.
Associate Members
We understand that life happens, and not everyone can commit as much time and energy as our full-time members. Thus, we offer a second level of membership that’s a bit dialed back. The requirements to maintain an associate level membership are greatly reduced from what is expected of full-time members. Benefits include performing in shows, the troupe engagement events, potential to be selected for festival and corporate event participation, discounted classes and free workshops at The Atlanta School of Burlesque, and free rehearsal space for personal use.
Intern Members
As of 2022, all new members start as interns. Our 6-month internship program is your ticket to working on, off, and behind the stage. Depending on your area of interest, you can intern in production, sound and lighting, marketing, stage management, or something else entirely. Benefits include performing in shows, the troupe engagement events, potential to be selected for festival and corporate event participation, free workshops at The Atlanta School of Burlesque
